GeForce Experience Not Working – What To Do?
Perform the steps described below when GeForce Experience is not working and solve the problem.
1) Restart GeForce Experience
When GeForce Experience is not working, end its processes from the Task Manager and restart it.
To do that, follow the steps given below:
- Right-click on your Taskbar and select Task Manager.
- Go to the Process tab and here you will find all the running NVIDIA tasks.
- Right-click on each NVIDIA task and click on the End Task option.
- Repeat the same process to terminate all NVIDIA tasks in the Task Manager.
After this, GeForce should work properly. If not, then go to the next solution.
2) Restart GeForce Experience Service
You can also restart GeForce Experience from Windows Services. To do that, follow the instructions given below:
- Press Windows + R keys to open the Run utility.
- Enter services.msc in the Run command box and click on the OK button.
- From the services window, locate an NVIDIA GeForce Experience service. Double click on the service to open its Properties.
- Set the Startup type to Automatic.
- Now click on the Start button if you find the service has stopped.
- Click on the Apply button and then on OK to apply the changes made.
- Now repeat the same process for any other NVIDIA services like NVIDIA Display Container, NVIDIA Local System Container, and Network Service Container from the Services list.
Now start GeForce Experience normally and see if it is working.
3) Update Or Reset Your Graphics Drivers
An outdated graphics driver can also be the reason why the GeForce experience is not working.
Not only to maximize your gaming experience but to avoid these types of problems, you should always keep your graphics driver updated. To update the graphics driver, follow the steps given below:
- Right-click on the Windows Start button and select Device Manager from the options.
- Double click on the Display Adapters section to expand it. Right-click on your graphics device and select the Update driver option.
- Next, click on the Search automatically for drivers option. Wait till the process gets finished.
If after updating the graphics drivers you still find the same problem, then reset your graphics drivers manually. This will fix the corrupted graphics driver if any.
4) Disable Your Firewall Or Antivirus
Sometimes your Firewall protection or antivirus can prevent GeForce to work properly.
So, disable your firewall or antivirus program temporarily and see if GeForce Experience works.
To disable Windows Defender Firewall, follow the steps given below:
- Enter Windows Defender Firewall in the Windows search box and choose the top option.
- Click on the Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off option.
- Click on the Turn off Windows Defender Firewall (not recommended) option for both Private and Public network settings.
This will disable Windows Defender Firewall Temporarily.
Now, if you are using any third-party antivirus program, then you should disable it too when GeForce is not working.
Here is how you can disable Avast antivirus program. Follow the steps:
- From your System Tray, right-click on the Avast icon.
- When Avast opens, click on the Avast shields control. Now a side menu will open.
- Select the period for disabling the shields.
- After selecting a time, click on the Yes button.
5) Reinstall GeForce Experience
If nothing helps and still GeForce experience is not working then reinstall it afresh.
To do that, follow the instructions given below:
- Enter Control Panel in the Windows search box and select the top option.
- Click on Programs and Features as shown below.
- From the Programs and Features window, click on Uninstall a program option.
- Locate GeForce Experience from the list of installed programs.
- Right-click on it and select Uninstall.
- Now, visit NVIDIA’s official site and download the latest version of NVIDIA GeForce Experience.
Open GeForce Experience and it should run without any problem.
