How To Error Code 264 on Roblox

You mostly get Roblox error code 264 when you are logged into Roblox with the same account on multiple devices.

Whereas some players have reported that the error can also occur if logged in from a single device.

The message generally displays the message as:

‘Disconnected… The same account launched the game from a different device. Reconnect if you prefer to use this device. (Error Code: 264).’

Other similar errors are the error 277 lost connection error and the error 279 disconnected error, which we have already covered.

To fix error code 264 on Roblox, follow the methods described below.

1) Check Your Internet Connection

When you get error code 264, first check your internet connection.

Sometimes, you can also get such errors due to a poor internet connection.

To check if your internet is stable, click on the internet icon on your taskbar.

See if you are connected to a stable internet.

You can check the internet speed by clicking on this link. In case you are using a Wi-Fi network and it is not working, then fix it first and then proceed.

If the internet connection is stable, then move on to the next solution.

You can contact your service provider and restart the router if the internet connection is slow.

2) Restart Your Router 

If you find the internet connection is unstable, you can restart your router.

Unplug the power cable from the router. Wait for a few minutes. Then connect the power cable. Wait till the green lights on the router are stable.

Open Roblox. If you get the same error again, log out and log in to your Roblox account.

3) Log Out And Log In To Roblox 

Logging out of your Roblox account and then logging in can fix the Roblox error 264.

Sign out from every device if you are logged in to the same Roblox account from multiple devices.

Then log into your account again from a single device. After logging out and logging in, check if the error is fixed. If not, then restart the router.

4) Check Roblox Server Status

Due to server outages, Roblox can show errors. So, check the game server and see if there is any problem.

If you find the server is undergoing any maintenance, wait until the server is up and running.

If there is no problem on the server side, then clear the Roblox cache.

5) Clear Roblox Temporary Data 

Roblox stores all the settings and game history data on your device. This helps to open the game much faster with all the game saves.

But if this temporary data gets corrupted, then you can get  Roblox error code 264.

To fix the issue, you can delete the Roblox log files. Here is how to do so:

  • Press the Windows key + R to launch the Run utility.
  • Copy & paste the following Command in the Run command box and press Enter:

  • Press Ctrl + A to select all the files in the folder and click on the Delete option.

  • Wait till all the files are deleted from the folder.

Once done, exit this window and relaunch Roblox. If you again get the same error, flush DNS.

6) Flush DNS 

Flushing the DNS clears all the DNS records & IP addresses from your cache.

If you are getting Roblox error 264 due to a connectivity problem, then it can get fixed by flushing DNS.

This process will reset the Winsock catalog and fix the connection-related issues.

To flush the DNS cache, follow these steps as given:

  • Type CMD in the Windows start menu. Choose to Run Command Prompt as administrator.

  • Then enter the following commands in the elevated Command Prompt window but one at a time. Press Enter each time to run the commands.

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /release

ipconfig-release

ipconfig /renew

netsh int ip reset

netsh-int-ip-reset

netsh winsock reset

This Command will After the commands run successfully, exit the Command Prompt window and relaunch Roblox. If the error persists, change DNS.

7) Reinstall Roblox

If the above methods could not fix the Roblox error, reinstall the game afresh. A fresh installation can fix these kinds of problems.

To reinstall Roblox, follow these steps:

  • Click on the Windows Start button & choose Settings.
  • Click on Apps > Apps & Features.

  • Locate Roblox from the list of all the installed apps.
  • Click on the three dots next to Roblox and click Uninstall.

Follow the instructions given on-screen to finish the uninstallation process.

Make sure to reinstall Roblox from the official site only. Once done, relaunch the Roblox app. This time it should not show errors.
