- Go to the right pane and click Turn off Windows Defender Antivirus.
- A popup window will appear in which seers have to choose Not Configured.
- Now click Apply and then click Ok.

I had no third party antivirus software installed.
services.msc Security Center it said to download and run mpam-feX64.exe < I could not download it from that site
but I was able to download it from https://www.techspot.com/downloads/downloadnow/5247/?evp=966f168b8330282213d9d68ffb93a2fb&file=1 Administrative Template > Windows Components > Windows Defender Antivirus right pane click Turn off Windows Defender Antivirus A popup window will appear I chose Disabled did not find any problem
Real-time protection was still grayed out

In Group policy, change it to Not configured to enable Real-time protection.

If you did not find the Windows Defender in Group policy, start a query for the same in the Registry Editor. The key for the same is as follows:
‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender’
Here, delete any subkeys that say ‘DisableAntiSpyware’.

it really didnt help. there is no info how to turn real time protection on. have been trying from days now and found no proper info to do the job.
