Fix: Valorant Error Van 138

Valorant Error Van 138 means that Valorant has encountered some connection issues.

To elaborate, if Riot Client detects that you are running Valorant from a virtual machine, it will not allow you to run the game and show the van error codes.

Valorant Van error 138 is mainly faced by users With AMS A-series processors.

When this happens, the players are unable to join the game sessions.

As the players cannot connect to the game servers, they get disconnected repeatedly.

What To Do When You Get Valorant Error Van 138?

Follow the methods described below and perform the steps to fix Valorant Error 138.

1) Check The Valorant’s Official Server Status

When you get Valorant error 138, check the Valorant official server status. Due to server outage, you can encounter this Valorant error.

So, click on this link and check if there is any problem on the server side. If there is a problem, wait for some time till the server becomes live again.

If the server is up and running, enable the VGC service.

2) Use The Command Prompt

Running a few commands in the Command Prompt window can also help fix Valorant error 138.

To do that, follow the steps given:

  • Type CMD in the Windows search box and right-click on Command Prompt.
  • Choose to run it as administrator.

  • Now run the following line of commands in the Command Prompt window and press Enter each time.

bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx OptIn

After running all the commands, exit the elevated Command Prompt window. Re-launch Valorant, and if you again get the same error code, enable the VGC service.

3) Enable The VGC Service

Riot Games’ VGC service is part of its anti-cheat system. If the VGC service is disabled, then you can get the Valorant Van error code 138.

So, follow the steps given below to enable the VGC service:

  • Press Windows + R keys to launch the Run command box.
  • Type services.msc in the Run command box and press the Enter key.

  • When the services window opens, look for the VGC service. Double-click on the VGC service and set the startup type to Automatic.

  • Next, click on the Start button to start the service. Click on Apply > OK button. Once done, restart your Computer.

4) Set The Priority

Changing the Valorant process priority to normal can also help fix Valorant error 138.

To do that, follow the steps given below:

  • Right-click on the Windows Start button and open Task Manager.
  • Go to the Details tab. Look for Valorant and right-click on it.
  • Select Set Priority > Normal.

  • Once done, exit Task manager and open your game. If the error persists, change the compatibility mode.

5) Allow Administrative Privileges And Change Compatibility Mode

Valorant may sometimes require administrative privileges to run.

So, run Valorant as an administrator and change the compatibility mode. This can fix the issue.

To do that, follow the steps given below:

  • Right-click on the Valorant desktop shortcut and select properties.

  • Go to the Compatibility tab and check the box for Run this program as an administrator.

  • Next, check the box for Run the program in the compatibility mode for. From the drop-down menu, select the Windows version.
