Read this article and learn what to do when Minecraft run.bat is not working.
What To Do When Minecraft Run.Bat Is Not Working?
When the Minecraft server batch file is not working, just perform the steps given below to fix the issue.
1) Check If The Server Bat Matches Your OS
Check if you are using 64-bit OS or 32-Bit OS.
If you have a 64-bit OS and the information stored in the server bat file is for the 32-bit OS,then Minecraft run.bat will not work.
So, make sure this mismatch does not happen.
To change the settings, open the server bat file and locate: Xmx1G or -Xmx2G.
For 64-bit OS, change -Xmx1G to -Xmx2G, and for 32-bit OS, change -Xmx2G to -Xmx1G.
2) Make Changes To the Task Scheduler
If you are facing this error while using Task Scheduler to run the run.bat file periodically for keeping the Minecraft server live, then the .jar file might not be in the same location.
So, edit the Schedule by locating the file again when run.bat is not working.
Change the “Start in” field to the server folder where the .jar file is located.
If after making the said changes, you still cannot run the .Jar file, move to the next solution.
3) Rename The .Jar File
If you have changed the name of the .Jar file, then Minecraft server run.bat will not work.
If the server cannot recognize the .Jar file because of its new name, then the run.bat file will fail to start.
So, if you have changed the name of the .Jar file, revert to the old one. This simple step can easily fix the issue.
If you have not changed the name of the .Jar file, then make sure to match the name with the one that is stored in the .bat file. This should fix the problem.
4) Configure The Bat File
Run bat may not work if the .Jar file and the server bat file are not in the same location.
- So, locate where your server bat file is and move the server bat file to the same directory where the .Jar file is located.
After that, you can create a shortcut to the file on your desktop to get easy access.
- You can also add a separate path for the .Jar file.
