How To Make Your YouTube Channel Public?
Once you have decided what content you want to post on your channel, finished shooting the videos and edited them to perfection, it is time to upload them to YouTube. By default, when you make a YouTube channel with a registered email, the homepage is open to view for everybody.
That’s correct, your channel’s homepage is public by default. So, anybody can visit your homepage and check out the profile details that you have chosen to share on your channel.
Now you can upload your videos to your channel once you have finished all the pre-requisite editing and stuff.
You do, however, need to manage the privacy settings of each upload. For each upload, you can choose your privacy setting to be Public, Private or Unlisted.
As the name suggests, the videos marked as Public by you are visible to everybody. These videos show up on your homepage and anybody on YouTube can see these videos.
The videos marked as Private and Unlisted do not show up on your channel. They are only available to you and someone you have shared them with. Only people having the link to your video can see the videos marked as unlisted. Here is a table from Google help pages that describe these settings:
Before you start uploading a video, you will be provided with an option to choose the video privacy settings. Don’t worry, you can always change the privacy settings even after you have finished uploading.
