How To Fix The Website Loading Issue On Google Chrome?

Having problems loading websites on Chrome can be resolved with the solutions given below:

1) Check Network Connectivity

If websites are not loading on Chrome, then there can be an issue with the network which you are using.

Ensure that you have a stable internet connection by checking your Wi-Fi or Ethernet Settings.

Visit speedtest.net and check your internet speed.

You can restart the router or modem to see if this fixes the connectivity issue.

2) Restart The Router

Restarting the router or modem is one of the most convenient solutions for fixing connectivity issues.

You will find the Power button at the back of your router. Use that Power button to turn off the device.

Or, you can unplug the cables from the router and turn the power switch from the wall outlet.

Wait for about 30 seconds, turn on the router again, and then check for the issue.

If a minor restart doesn’t help, then restart your PC.

3) Restart Your Computer

Restarting the computer can help resolve the website loading issue on Google Chrome by clearing out the temporary files or processes likely to cause this problem.

restart

It will also shut down all the programs and processes running in the background, allowing the computer to start fresh when it boots up again.

If restarting the computer doesn’t help, check the website status you are trying to reach.

4) Check The Status Of The Website

It is also essential to check the status of the website if the website is down or shows you offline.

This can be done by visiting the DownDetector website or other similar websites available across the net.

These websites will show the current status of some of the most popular websites and tell you if there are any other problems with particular ISPs or regions.

If there isn’t any problem with the websites, then clear the browser cache.

5) Clear Web Browser Cache

Clearing the web browser cache helps in improving the browser’s performance.

It also helps fix website issues, protect your privacy, and resolve conflicts between browser extensions or plugins.

To clear the cache on Google Chrome, follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Open Chrome and click on the three-dots menu.
  • Next, click on More Tools > Clear Browsing Data.

If you are still getting the same problem, then Flush DNS.

6) Flush DNS

If you are experiencing network connectivity issues like accessing websites or slow internet speeds, then flushing the DNS cache can help in resolving the issue.

Flushing DNS will help speed up the browsing experience by removing unnecessary or outdated entries in the cache.

Follow the steps as given to do that:

  • Type CMD in the Windows Search bar.
  • Rght-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator option.

  • Now copy & paste the following commands in the elevated Command Prompt window.
  • Press Enter after entering each command.

ipconfig /release

ipconfig-release

ipconfig /renew

ipconfig-renew

netsh int tip reset

netsh-int-ip-reset

netshwinsock reset

netsh-int-ip-reset

Restart your computer after running the commands. You can change the DNS address if this cannot fix the problem.

7) Change DNS

Changing the DNS server will improve the website loading speed, bypass certain restrictions, and allow you to access the blocked websites.

Overall changing DNS will help improve the website loading speed and unblocking websites.

Now, follow the steps as given below:

  • Open Settings and head to Network & Internet section.

  • Click on OK to save the changes.

Use the incognito mode and see whether it helps you to resolve your issue.

8) Use Incognito Mode

Using Google Chrome’s Incognito mode will prevent extensions that are likely interfering with YouTube.

This is how you can use incognito mode on Google Chrome:

  • First, open Google Chrome and click on the three dots menu from the top-right corner of the Web Browser and then select “New incognito window.”

  • After you have opened a new incognito window, start browsing the web.

  • After you are done browsing in incognito mode, close the incognito window.
  • Check if the problem still persists. If yes, then disable Firewall.

9) Disable Firewall Antivirus

Firewalls can sometimes interfere and prevent you from reaching certain websites they detect as malicious.

A firewall has been designed mainly to block the computer or the network from any such unauthorized access.

So, if you cannot reach your desired site block the Firewall temporarily and then open the site.

But you should enable Firewall soon after to protect your PC from malicious threats.

This is how to do it:

  • First, go to the Windows Search bar and type Windows Defender Firewall.
  • Select the first option.
  • Click on “Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off.”

  • Next, select the “Turn off Windows Defender Firewall” option & check the boxes for both Private and Public Network settings.
