We Are Sorry But There Has Been an Error Connecting to FC26 Ultimate Team

Updated: June 5, 2026 by Sanchita Das

I was ready to jump into Ultimate Team, but instead of the kickoff screen, I got the dreaded message: “We are sorry but there has been an error connecting to FC26 Ultimate Team.”

It felt like being benched right before the match. To understand what’s really happening, I dug into the reasons behind this error and then, I tried playing a few normal matches before jumping back into Ultimate Team.

Surprisingly, that reset things and let me back in. Another time, I simply waited for a couple of hours — and when I returned, the servers were stable again.

Here are some other working methods you can try when you get such an error.

Errors like this don’t just appear out of nowhere — they usually have a cause.

  • Server instability – FC26 servers can get overloaded during peak hours or go down for maintenance, leaving players locked out.
  • Match‑quitting behavior – If you’ve been leaving too many matches in quick succession, the system may flag your account as suspicious, almost like coin farming.
  • Account issues – Sometimes the error is tied to bans or restrictions placed on your EA account.
  • Internet problems – A shaky or overloaded connection can prevent the game from talking to EA’s servers.
  • Outdated drivers – Old network drivers can cause connectivity hiccups that show up as in‑game errors.

In short, the error is usually a mix of server limits, account checks, and connection issues.

Fixes That Worked For Me

When the error kept blocking me from Ultimate Team, I didn’t give up. I tried a few simple methods that actually worked, and they got me back into the game.

Here are the ones that helped me, along with other fixes worth trying if the problem continues.

Warm‑Up Matches Before the Big Game

The next thing you can try is play a few normal matches and then try playing the Ultimate team.

Playing a casual match resets the limit so, try it and see if the issue fixes.

Taking a Break to Let the Servers Breathe

Another thing you can do is simply take a rest and play after a couple of hours.

FC 26 can have server issues,   or if you were leaving too many matches at one go, then FC might think you are coin farming.

Nonetheless, try playing after a couple of hours and see if the issues fixes.

So, you can check the EA server status from this link. If there is any outage report wait for some time and then check again.

When the Account Door Gets Locked

You might also get this error  if your account has been banned. Try logging in with another account and see if you get the error.

If you don’t get the error, then it likely means your account was banned.

Make Sure The Internet Connection is Stable

TP-Link-router

The first thing you need to do is make sure you are connected to the internet.  Check the internet speed by visiting Speedtest.net and see if your internet is fast and stable enough.

Next you can try shutting down your router and turning it on after a few minutes.

Also   try bringing the router closer to the device for better connection.

You can also try connecting with an Ethernet cable if you are already not doing that.

Also make sure that multiple devices are not connected to the Wi-Fi you are using,   otherwise it would split the bandwidth and lead to connection issues.

Updating Drivers to Keep the Network Fresh

Outdated drivers can lead to connectivity issues while playing games. So, you can update the network drivers and see if this can fix the issue.

  • To do so, open Device Manager using Windows search.
  • Head to the Network Adapters section and expand it.
  • Right-click on your network adapter and select the update driver option.

  • Choose Search automatically for the drivers option.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to finish the process.

Clearing Out the DNS Cache

DNS cache builds up over time and can slow down the internet connection. This can cause errors while gaming.

  • Clearing the DNS cache can help you run the game smoothly.
  • Search for the command prompt in   the Windows Search Box by typing “cmd.”
  • Right-click on the command prompt and click on Run as administrator.
  • Copy and paste the following commands into the Command prompt while making sure you press enter after each command:

Ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig-flushdns

ipconfig /release

ipconfig-release-cmd-command

ipconfig /renew

ipconfig-renew-cmd-command

netsh Winsock reset

winsock-reset

Restart your computer and then Re-launch the game to see if this fixed the error.

Switching to a Smarter DNS Play

You can also change the DNS and see if this helps fix the error.

  • To change DNS, type Control Panel in the Windows search box and choose the first option.
  • Next, set the View by option to small or large icons.
  • Select Network and Sharing Center.

  • Now, select Change Adapter Settings.
  • Then right-click on your internet connection and select its properties.
  • Search for Internet Protocol Version 4, right-click on it, and open its Properties.
  • Set the Preferred DNS Server Address to 8.8.8.8 and the Alternate DNS Server address to 8.8.4.4. Click on OK and save the changes.

google-dns

  • You can also switch to the Cloudflare DNS server. For that, set the Preferred DNS Server Address to 1.1.1.1 and the Alternate DNS Server address to 1.0.0.1.
  • To save the changes, click on OK.
  • Once done, restart your PC. Once the PC restarts, re-launch the game and see if the issue is fixed. Here are seven free DNS servers for your router.

Contacting The EA Support Team

If the methods shown could not fix the problem, you should report the EA support team and follow the instructions provided by the experts to fix the issue.

Wrapping It Up

The FC26 Ultimate Team error isn’t always a disaster — it’s often just the game or servers putting up a temporary wall.

By understanding the reasons and trying straightforward fixes first, you can usually get back on the pitch without too much hassle.

And if none of these work, that’s when it’s time to escalate — check your account status or reach out to EA support for help.
