Stuck in the Wrong Language in EA SPORTS FC 26? Here’s What I Did

Updated: June 5, 2026 by Sanchita Das

Launched EA SPORTS FC 26, ready to play, but something felt completely off. The menus, the options — everything was in a language I didn’t understand.

At first, I thought it was a glitch or something that went wrong during installation. I even considered reinstalling the game.

But then I realized the fix was much simpler — just changing the language from the game settings. Here are a few things I tried that actually worked for me to fix language issue in FC games, explained in detail — read on to find out.

Before jumping into solutions, I wanted to understand what actually went wrong — because it didn’t feel like a typical bug.

After looking into it, I realized this issue usually comes down to how the game sets its language during installation or first launch.

In most cases, it happens because:

  • The game automatically selects a language based on your system or region settings
  • The default language gets applied without asking during setup
  • The language is changed accidentally while navigating settings
  • Or the game saves a previous preference that doesn’t match your current choice

The tricky part is — once the language is set incorrectly, navigating through menus becomes confusing, making it harder to fix.

So, the game isn’t actually broken. It’s just using a setting that doesn’t match what you expect — and the option to change it is a bit hidden.

What I Tried — Simple Fixes That Actually Worked

Instead of jumping into complicated solutions, I focused on a few simple things that made the most sense.

Since the issue was clearly related to settings, I started exploring the in-game options rather than reinstalling.

1. The In-Game Fix — Using a Controller

This was the first method I tried — and it worked immediately.

Here’s what I did:

  • Run the game. Navigate to the top left corner of the screen.
  • Click on the Settings icon.
  • In the Settings menu, find and select Game Settings.
  • Do not press the X button yet, just highlight Game Settings.
  • Use the right analog stick on your controller to scroll through the options until you see Language.
  • Once you see the Language option, press the X button once.
  • Use the right analog stick to select your desired language.

  • After selecting the language, press the X button to confirm.
  • If prompted with a confirmation message, press the X button again to finalize the change.
  • Once I did this, the entire game switched to the correct language.

2. The Alternative Way — Using a Keyboard

If you’re playing on PC, this method works just as well.

Here’s how I did it:

  • Use the arrow keys to navigate to Game Settings.
  • Highlight Game Settings and press the Enter key.
  • Use the number keys – 4 or 6 to scroll through the options until you see Language.
  • Once you see the Language option, press the Enter key.
  • Use the left or right arrow keys to select your desired language.
  • After selecting the language, press the Enter key to confirm.

  • If prompted with a confirmation message, click OK.
  • If a confirmation message appears, just click OK. Why this fix works? The reason this works is simple — the language setting is already built into the game.
  • It’s just not always obvious, especially if the current language is unfamiliar. Once you locate it, switching becomes easy.

Wrapping Up

It was simpler than I thought. So that’s how I fixed the language issue in EA SPORTS FC 26. In the end, it wasn’t a technical problem at all —just a setting hidden in plain sight.

Once I changed it, everything felt normal again. So, if your game is stuck in the wrong language, don’t panic —you don’t need to reinstall or overthink it.

Just head into the settings and switch it. For any further queries, feel free to ask us in the comments section provided below.
