Valorant is a hugely popular game everyone around the world enjoys playing it. Well, not everyone as Valorant is not available on Mac. This doesn’t mean you can’t play Valorant on Macs.
There is a way to play Valorant on Macbooks and here I have shown how to do it. So, read till the end and perform as shown to run Valorant on Mac.
Can You Play Valorant On Mac?
No, technically Valorant cannot be run natively on Mac. This is because Valorant is not available for MacOS.
The only way to run Valorant on a Macbook is running it on Windows and even that has restrictions to it.
So, you will have to install Windows on your Mac and then run Valorant on it. But installing Windows is not that simple as you might have guessed already.
How To Install Valorant On Macbook?
To install Valorant on a Macbook, you will first have to install Windows on your Mac. Now you cannot simply install the Windows ISO as normally done for Windows installations.
First you will have to use Boot Camp. Boot Camp is available for free in on their website. It will basically let you dual-boot Windows and MacOS on your Mac.
The reason you need to get Boot Camp instead of other virtual machines like Parallels is because Valorant won’t run on them.
Virtual machines on Mac other than Boot Camp runs Windows and MacOS at the same time, which is a very convenient for other work but not in the case of Valorant.
Valorant’s anti chief software Vanguard won’t work with virtual machines that run both the OSes side by side. Vanguard is a kernel level anti-cheat system so it can figure out virtual environments.
Virtual environments can be used for cheating, which is why Vanguard doesn’t allow it.
Can You Run Valorant On All Macs?
Sadly no. Using Boot Camp, you can only run Valorant on Macs with Intel processors. This is because Boot Camp is only supported on Intel processors.
Until M1 and M2 processors support Boot Camp, you cannot play Valorant on them. So, if you have M1 or M2 Macbooks, all you can do is wait for either Valorant to become available on macOS or Boot Camp to work on M1 or M2 processors.
How About Using Cloud Gaming Services?
Sadly even that won’t work as Valorant is not available on any Cloud gaming services. If you wanted to play Valorant on Mac using cloud gaming, then sadly it won’t work.
Even if some Cloud Gaming services provide Valorant as an option, the game is simply not suitable for it.
In the most ideal cases of Cloud gaming, there will still be some latency and any latency in Valorant, even the slightest can ruin the fun of the game.
