2). In the Command Prompt, enter the command written below and restore the default power schemes & then press enter. Command:
‘powercfg –restoredefaultschemes’

4). In the Command Prompt, type the command written below & press enter. Command:
‘secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\inf\defltbase.inf /db defltbase.sdb /verbose’
5). Then, restart your system again and check the issue.
If the issue of ‘Windows 10 power setting not working’ is not resolved and you are still following the same issue, then move to the next method.
Method 3: Run DISM / SFC scans
1). Press Windows + R and there is a dialogue box appear. Type ‘cmd’ & then press Ctrl + Shift + Enter and there is a Command Prompt opens. If driven by UAC, click ‘Yes’ to allow administrative privileges.
2). In the Command Prompt box, run the below command that initiates the scanning of System File Checker. Command –
‘sfc /scannow’
3). When the SFC scan is completed, restart your system & check either the issue is resolved or not.
4). If the issue is still encountered, again follow the step 1 and open the Command Prompt box & type the below command that initiates DISM scan:
‘dism /online / cleanup-image /restorehealth’
5). When the scan is completed, restart your system again & check either the issue is resolved or not.
If the still occurs, move down to the next method mentioned below.
Method 4: Use The tool ‘Local Security Policy’
1). Press Windows + R and there is ‘Run box’ appear. In the box, type “secpol.msc” & then ‘Enter’. There is a Local Pool Security Policy Editor open.
2). In this menu, go to the menu tab of ‘Local Policies’ & then click on the User Rights Assignment.
3). After that, on the right side of the menu, double click on the ‘Create token object’.
4). After that, right click on the Shutdown system & select Properties.
5). In ‘Shut down system Properties screen’, choose the Backup Operators & click on Add Group or User button. Then, a window is opened for Select Groups or Users. Minimize the window until you acquire some necessary information.
