Solution 1: Check Whether Microsoft Teams Has Permission To Use The Webcam

To use the hardware components in Windows 10, we need to provide apps permissions. You need to give permissions to programs like Microsoft Teams or Skype to use your webcam.

There are very simple steps with the help of which you can provide permission to the apps to use your webcam:

Step 1: First of all you need to Press Windows Key + I to open the Windows settings.

Step 2: When the settings window will open, go to Privacy, and then select Camera.

Step 3: Take time to allow apps to access your Camera. Also, ensure that the apps that can use your camera are activated for Teams.

In case you find it is already on, make sure you turn it off and leave it like that for a couple of minutes and then proceed to turn it on once again.

Now check whether your problem is solved.

Solution 2: Make Sure To Update All Of Your Drivers

In the middle of some important video conference, you might get interrupted with Microsoft teams camera not working!

Your old camera drivers may be the culprit so, to be on the safe side, remember to keep all of your drivers updated to the latest version.

You may choose to update your drivers automatically, but you may cause permanent damage to your device if you download and install a wrong driver version.

There are various dedicated tools that automatically search for the latest driver versions for your Computer. You may try IObit Driver Booster 7 as well.

The proper ones with the latest programs keep your drivers safe and their free to download options do a great job keeping your drivers up and running.

So make sure you choose the right one that serves you well with the proper features.

Solution 3: Perform A Hardware And Devices Troubleshooter

Windows 10 comes with an in-built troubleshooter.

If you have installed a new driver or some hardware like we have mentioned in the earlier steps, and still facing a problem with your web camera, use the troubleshooter to fix the problem.

There are a number of issues that may hamper your camera’s functionality, and that is why we highly recommend using the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

The automated troubleshooter will try to detect the problem when the camera won’t turn on and then proceed to fix the issue.

Follow these steps to perform the task with much ease:

Step 1: First of all, press Start and then go to Settings.

Step 2: Now, from the displayed window, select Update & Security.

Step 3: Scroll down to find Troubleshoot and then click on it. Wait for few minutes for the task to get completed.

Solution 4: Re-Register Your Webcam

To get full capabilities of Microsoft Teams video conferences, it is advisable to use a device manufactured by the certified partners.

You may visit Microsoft’s support page and scroll all the way down to cameras and search from the list of Microsoft Teams certified webcams.

Remember that the quality of the images is affected by light and webcam settings as well. There is also fear of some malware programs that may affect your system and cause annoyance.

Re-registering your webcam is also another way to make it work properly. To do the task follow the steps:

Step 1: Press Windows + X and from the panel go to Device Manager.

Your camera may also fail to work in the Teams Windows application -while it does in the Browser- when you are using a background image and/or blur. Going plain image may restore functionality.
