Often at times when you browse at a guest computer, you may see that the recently opened tabs are visible in the hamburger menu that is visible to the next time someone opens the Google Chrome browser. If you are concerned about your privacy regarding the recent tabs history, here I will discuss how to clear Recently closed from Google Chrome.
Some people often don’t check the history, but the recently opened tabs are visible right from the settings menu. If you want to remove the Recently closed from there, here is how to delete recently closed on Chrome using a very simple trick.
Clear Recently Closed In Google Chrome
When you are done browsing, instead of closing the app from the big red Cross at the top right, exit Chrome by clicking on the hamburger menu, then select Exit.
Now launch Google Chrome again. Immediately close the window in the similar way you did last time i.e. from settings menu.
Now when you open Google Chrome, you will see that the Recently closed is empty.
Neat!
Clear History As Well
However, do note that this will not remove the browsing history from the particular PC you were browsing from. Do remove the browsing history if you want to be absolutely sure that no one can see what you browsed for.
To clear browsing data, press the Ctrl + Shift + Delete keys to open the clear browsing data page. Now select the time range you want to clear from the ‘Time range’ drop-down box. Then click on Clear data.
To remove specific sites, press Ctrl + H to open the history page. From the list of browsed web pages, select the pages you want to delete, and then select Delete from the top.

This method removes all items in ‘Recently Closed’ including those of the owner of the computer that you’ve borrowed. Is there a way to delete selected recently viewed items?

I have tried, gone to 3 dots, open, exit. Do again. Recent history is still there! Is this an old tip that no longer works. Would appreciate any feedback.
