How To Change Facebook Video Quality Settings?

Changing the resolution may also come in handy if you see Facebook not playing the videos in the highest quality possible.
On Desktops And Laptops
To change the Facebook video quality, follow these steps:
- On your web browser, visit the Facebook website.
- Click on the down arrow at the top ribbon to reveal a drop-down menu.
- Here, select Settings & privacy.
- Again, click on Settings to visit the Settings page of Facebook.
- From the left pane of options, select Videos. It should be near the bottom of the options.
- In the right column, locate the option that says, ‘Video Default Quality’.
- You will see a drop-down menu next to the said option. Click on it to reveal the Facebook video settings.
Here, you will find three options to change the default quality of videos on Facebook. Here is what each setting means, so you can choose accordingly:
Default: The video will play in the best available quality according to the bandwidth available. If you are on a Faster Internet network, the videos will play in high quality.
SD only: The video will play in SD quality, irrespective of the bandwidth you are currently using.
HD, if available: Again, irrespective of the bandwidth, the videos will be played in the highest available quality (HD) in which the user uploaded the video.
Note: You cannot upscale a video. If the uploaded quality is not high enough, you will see the video in SD if the uploaded video is in SD.
On Android
At the time of writing, the Facebook Android app Does not have the option of changing the default video quality of videos. If you are worried about data consumption, you can turn on the data saver from the settings menu up the app, which will load the images in lower quality and will also stop the videos from playing automatically.
