All of us secure our system with the best available antivirus solutions. There may be an in-built Microsoft security program, some specialized software for protecting our data or folders.

But before you proceed with the solutions, make sure that your antivirus is creating issues otherwise you will have to check the printer itself.
1. Avast
Step 1: When you are using Avast antivirus solution, launch Avast on your PC first. After you have launched Avast successfully, go to the Protection section.
Step 2: Now under the Protection category, choose Firewall entry. Then from the bottom of your screen, go to the Application settings.
Step 3: Create a new Firewall rule by selecting a New application rule. Now add the specific app you wish to include in the exception list of the Firewall.
After you have finished creating a new firewall rule and adding an exception, make sure you save the changes you have made before you close the window.
When you are done, give your system a fresh restart. Check whether the Avast blocking wireless printer issue is solved.

2. Kaspersky
Step 1: Open Kaspersky and go to the Settings as you have done for the other antivirus solution.
Step 2: When you are under the Settings options, move on to expand the Additional section as I have mentioned the categories in the picture below.
Step 3: Now from the displayed options, select the Threats And Exclusions category. Here, choose the link of the Configure exclusion rules.
Step 4: Now you will have to fill in the displayed field when asked for and add one exclusion for the printer.

3. Norton
Step 1: Launch your Norton app and go to the Advanced category. Now check the Firewall entry from the left panel and click on it.
Step 2: Now go to the Application Blocking category and open the Settings option. Select the option for Adding application and then go for setting your executable file for the printer.
Step 3: Save the changes made and then leave the window. Hope this is going to solve if Norton or Avast is blocking the network scanner.
4. Bitdefender
Step 1: Go to the System Tray and click twice on the Bitdefender icon to run it. Then select the Protection icon.
Step 2: Next go to the View Features section. Now, choose the Settings option under the Firewall category.
Step 3: Go to the Rules tab and then choose the Add option to set a new Firewall exception.
Step 4: Select the file that you will need to print for enabling access so that it may function properly.
Step 5: Check the on-screen instructions provided in case your printer is wireless. You may also want to print the files over some network.
Now type the URL and make sure that is like that of the executable file. Finally, save the changes you have made and reboot your system.
5. AVG
Step 1: Open your AVG software and from the user interface, choose the Firewall option. Most probably it is the last entry that you may find.
Step 2: Now, open settings when the Firewall option gets expanded. If you cannot find settings, look at the bottom of the window.
Step 3: Now go to Advanced Settings and then try to set the Avast exclusion rule. Choose the Add button and then fill the form when prompted for adding a new exclusion.
Save the changes that you have made and then give your system a fresh reboot. Hope this is going to solve your issue.
6. Avira
Step 1: If you are using Avira, hit the Menu button, and then go to the Configuration section.
Step 2: Now move on to the Internet Protection feature unit and hit on the link of Application rules. This will open The Firewall Settings Section.
Step 3: Choose The Change parameters options. Now go to the Allowed Programs category and search for the printer app for enabling it.
Hopefully, this process is going to solve the issue when your antivirus is blocking the printer’s issue.
7. Windows Defender
Step 1: Go to your Windows Defender Security Center. Now when you will find the search option, enter Windows Defender there.
Step 2: When you are in the Windows Defender, choose the Virus & threat protection category.
Step 3: Next move on to the settings of the Virus & threat protection section. Now go for adding or removing exclusions.
Now add your printer to the exclusion list. This indicates that you can print with your printer.
Now, you are done! Check whether you are still having issues with your printer. In case you are using any other antivirus, apply the same process. The configuration steps are almost similar for all security software.
